Supporting the Shire

Seymour Shaw Park in Miranda was officially reopened by the NSW Premier on 29 August, following a $12 million upgrade delivering new sporting fields, a clubhouse, spectator seating, and public art for the Sutherland Shire community.
Breen was part of that project from both ends.

During the earthworks, we received 870 tonnes of VENM and 200 tonnes of GSW soil from the site, along with 8 tonnes of concrete for recycling. Once the works were complete, we supplied 11 tonnes, around 55 cubic metres, of recycled mulch back to the finished precinct.

A local project, done properly

Seymour Shaw Park has been part of Miranda’s community life since the 1950s, and this latest stage builds on the park’s long-standing role as one of the Shire’s premier sporting destinations. The upgrade delivered new multi-use playing fields for cricket, soccer, and netball, along with improved spectator facilities, accessible pathways, and landscaping.

For a project of this scale, right in the Sutherland Shire, being part of both the material coming out during construction and the finished product going back in is exactly the kind of full-circle involvement we’re proud of. Material recovered from the site’s earthworks gets a second life, and the mulch we supplied is now part of the finished landscaping local families will enjoy for years to come.
