Jean Celebrates 25 years with Breen Resources!
Today marks a truly special milestone – Jean’s 25th anniversary with Breen Resources. On 26th June 2000, she started part-time as our only accounts person, commuting daily from Wollongong to the City to keep our books in order.
Jean Karkkainen journey mirrors our company’s evolution:
- Started when everything was done manually – including wages calculated by hand
- Was there when Tom Breen Junior took over from his father and recognised her invaluable contribution
- Split her time between our city office and Kurnell, mastering every aspect of our operations
- Witnessed our transformation from small family operation to the modern business we are today
What makes Jean extraordinary? She’s still first in the office – often arriving at 6:30am – 25 years later.
Her institutional knowledge is unmatched, but it’s her kind and caring nature that has truly shaped our office culture in the most positive way. From manual ledgers to modern financial systems, to becoming the heart of our finance team – Jean embodies the dedication and family values that define Breen Resources.
